By creating an account or using the Master Electrician App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Jason Cugley ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), the developer and operator of the Master Electrician App.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email.
The Master Electrician App is an educational and reference tool designed to assist licensed electricians, electrical apprentices, inspectors, contractors, and other qualified individuals with:
The App references multiple editions of the National Electrical Code, including the 2017, 2020, and 2023 editions. Code requirements vary by jurisdiction and adoption cycle.
THE APP IS AN EDUCATIONAL AND REFERENCE TOOL ONLY. It is not a substitute for professional electrical training, licensing, certification, experience, or judgment. The App does not replace the need to consult the actual National Electrical Code book, local amendments, or your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
Nothing in this App constitutes professional electrical advice, engineering advice, legal advice, inspection services, or consulting services. The information provided is for general educational and reference purposes only.
The App uses artificial intelligence to generate responses and analyze images. AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions — including fabricated code section numbers and incorrect requirements. It is not verified by a licensed professional before being presented to you and should never be relied upon as the sole basis for any electrical decision. It may not reflect the code edition adopted by your jurisdiction and does not account for local amendments or AHJ interpretations.
The SparkCheck photo analysis feature cannot fully assess an electrical installation from a photograph alone. It is not an electrical inspection, may fail to identify serious safety hazards, and should never be used to determine whether an installation is safe, code-compliant, or ready for occupancy or energization.
Code references in this App are for educational reference only and may not represent the complete, current, or accurate text of any NEC edition. They are not a replacement for owning and consulting the official NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) publication.
ELECTRICAL WORK INVOLVES SERIOUS RISKS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ELECTROCUTION, ELECTRIC SHOCK, ARC FLASH, ARC BLAST, BURNS, FIRE, EXPLOSION, PROPERTY DAMAGE, SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, AND DEATH. Only qualified, licensed individuals should perform electrical work. Always de-energize circuits and follow proper lockout/tagout procedures. Always use appropriate PPE rated for the hazard level.
You represent and warrant that you are a licensed electrician, contractor, engineer, or inspector; an apprentice working under direct supervision; a student studying for an electrical licensing examination; or another qualified individual using the App for lawful educational purposes.
You agree to always independently verify any information obtained from this App against official sources, your own professional training, and qualified professionals when appropriate. You are solely responsible for ensuring that any electrical work you perform complies with all applicable codes and standards. You agree not to rely on App information as the sole basis for any electrical decision.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY BE LIABLE FOR ANY DEATH, PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR OTHER PHYSICAL HARM; ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES; OR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED CONTENT — REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF THE COMPANY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
The Company's total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the twelve (12) months preceding the event, or fifty dollars ($50.00), whichever is greater.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Company from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to your use of or reliance on the App, any electrical work performed by you, any violation of these Terms, or any injury, death, or property damage arising from your use of the App.
By using this App, you expressly acknowledge and assume all risks associated with the use of AI-generated content for electrical reference purposes, the inherent limitations of AI technology and photo-based analysis, and any decisions you make based on information obtained from this App.
The App offers multiple subscription tiers with varying usage limits. Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store and automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Refund requests are handled by Apple and Google in accordance with their refund policies. One-time scan pack purchases are non-refundable after use. Unused scans from scan packs do not expire.
All content, features, and functionality of the App are the property of the Company or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70) is a copyrighted publication of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Users are encouraged to purchase the official NEC publication from NFPA for complete and authoritative code text.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and all activities that occur under your account. You may delete your account at any time through the App's Settings screen. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or abuse of the service.
Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days. Any unresolved dispute shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in Pennsylvania. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against the Company.
